Salma Hayek

SalmaSalma Hayek Pinault (born Salma Valgarma Hayek , born 2 September 1966)[3][4][5]), is an American and Mexican actress. Her professional career began in Mexico, where she starred in the television drama Teresa (1989-1991) as well as the romantic drama El Callejon de los Milagros (1995) which was a huge success and earned her an Ariel Award nomination. In films such as Desperado (1995), From Dusk till Dawn (1996), Wild Wild West (1999) and Dogma (1999) and Dogma (1999), she quickly established herself as a leading actress in Hollywood. Hayek's portrayal of painter Frida Kahlo in the biographical film Frida (2002) that she also produced and directed, was the first Mexican actress to be recognized for the Academy Award for Best Actress[6] and additionally earned her Golden Globe Award, Screen Actors Guild Award and British Academy Film Award nominations. Hayek continued to produce her films, and also starred in action-oriented film Once Upon a Time in Mexico in the years following.
